Grand & Imperial Tour

This small room leads into the apartments of Empress Elisabeth.

Two sets of double wing doors give a clear indication that we have left the apartments of Franz Joseph.

A glazed door opens onto a terrace leading to an ancillary building of the palace, once occupied by the imperial couple’s youngest daughter, Archduchess Marie Valerie, and her family. The narrow room forms the passage to the empress’s private apartments, which lie on the west side of the palace. These rooms look onto the Privy Garden, a part of the park that was not open to the public until 1918, being reserved exclusively for members of the imperial family.
